Photoshop v's Lightroom

Having recently tried 'Lightroom' and messed up my filing, what do you guys use? My situation was undoubtedly 'user error', but having used 'Photoshop' for so long, I found it hard to get used to the new interface.
Lots of people use 'LR' on its own, and lots of people use it in conjunction with 'PS'. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
Is it an ease of use decision? Is it a financial decision?
