'Final resting place' has been shortlisted for judging at Goodwood racecourse on November 10th.
This appears to be a real Marmite picture; I love it but a lot of you don't!
If I get through this stage, then it will be shown at the exhibition at the Minerva Theatre in Chichester in December and prizes will be awarded at the private view!...

Potters Manor - Urbex debut

After much research and planning, I took off yesterday to photograph 'Potters Manor House' in East Sussex before it is sold and gets pulled down. This was only my second such urbex mission and I was a bit jumpy as I parked up, climbed over the fence and worked my way through the bushes to what I was hoping was the house. As I rounded one big clump of shrubbery the house loomed into view and I was filled with excitement and dread in equal measure.

Approaching the very derelict house and ultimately climbing in through an open/broken window into what was a large living room, I realised with some degree of concern, that nobody actually knew where I was.....
Once safely inside and with a slightly slower heart rate, I began to shoot. For more of the images from the day click Here
My inspiration for this visit was the work by an amazing photographer called 'Miss Aniela'.

One day, twelve hours, nine categories, two very sore feet.
Saturday 11th June 2011 saw the first ever Brighton Fotothon. A full day's shooting in Brighton with set categories but an open mind.
Judged by a panel including Charlie Waite.
The end result: Around 1000 images of which one of mine has been selected as 'Highly Commended' in the category 'Brighton's Back Passages'

I attended the Brighton Fotothon 11th June 2011 as the first ever photographic competition I have taken part in.
The basis of the competition was to shoot nine categories during the day and to submit the photographs for subsequent judging. I found it to be a very interesting and useful exercise in that it forced me to really think about what I was shooting and why.
Follow the link below for the photographs that I submitted for judging.
